Weddings and Plastic Surgery: What You Need to Know

Summer is a huge season for weddings, and it should come as no surprise that the bride wants to look her very best for her big day. Typically, looking her best includes finding the perfect dress and getting her hair and makeup done to really show off her best features. However, it has become a trend more recently for brides to also receive cosmetic surgery or cosmetic treatments to help improve their appearance. With that in mind, if you’re planning to get married, and you want to improve your appearance with cosmetic surgery, it’s best to start as soon as possible. Liposuction

Do you want to fit into your gorgeous wedding gown, but you’re having trouble losing some stubborn fat around your middle or on your upper arms? Every bride wants to look sleek and slim in their dress, and that’s why many brides opt for liposuction leading up to their wedding. While liposuction isn’t a quick-fix for weight loss, it can help eliminate areas of stubborn fat that won’t go away with proper diet and exercise. With a liposuction procedure, a bride can achieve the body contour she wants so that her dress expertly flatters her figure. With that in mind, if you’re considering liposuction, it’s best to plan at least a few months in advance so that your body has time to heal and get back to full physical activity.

Nose Job

A rhinoplasty, or a nose job, is another common procedure that a bride may receive leading up to her big day. If a bride has always felt self-conscious about her nose, or perhaps she has nostrils that are wide, upturned, or too large, or even a nasal profile that is unflattering, she may decide that her wedding is the perfect excuse to finally get a nose job. Photos are a large part of the wedding process, as well as the reason why a bride may want to look her very best. If she doesn’t like the appearance of her nose, she may not want to have to look at it in all of her wedding photos — hence receiving a nose job prior to her wedding. If that’s the case, make sure you plan ahead of time, similarly to the liposuction, to ensure that your nose has time to heal fully.

Breast Augmentation

With any cosmetic surgery, it’s important to make sure that you’re doing the surgery for yourself and not because someone else wants it for you. That being said, some brides have seriously considered getting a breast augmentation in the past, and their wedding may be just the push they need to finally go through with it. For example, maybe a bride has her heart set on a strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline, and she may feel that her breasts are too small to really fill out that style. With a breast augmentation, a bride can fill out her dress more and feel more confident in her appearance not only on her big day, but also every day following her wedding.

BOTOX®

BOTOX may not be a procedure that the bride is particularly interested in, but it could be a procedure that a family member of the bride or groom wants to proceed with. As mentioned earlier, pictures are an important part of the big day, and family members may want to ensure they look youthful and beautiful in all the photos from that day. That being said, it isn’t unheard of for a bride to decide to have BOTOX on her face before her big day, especially if the bride is older or is starting to develop forehead or smile lines.

Facelift

A facelift procedure is similar to BOTOX but can offer more drastic changes. This procedure is also common among family members of the couple, but can also be for the bride if necessary. With a facelift procedure, a surgeon can eliminate the appearance of wrinkles, as well as tighten up the skin to remove signs of jowls if necessary, giving the person a more distinct jaw or browline.
