What Is a VI Peel?
A VI Peel is in the same family as other chemical peels, but the one you choose largely depends on your skin concerns, skin type, and what conditions you’re trying to treat. The great thing about VI Peels is that they are a great option for all skin types. VI Peels also treat a variety of conditions, including:
Poor skin texture
Large pores
Acne & Acne scars
Fine lines
Uneven skin tone
What most people don’t realize is that in addition to treating these conditions on your face, a VI Peel treatment can also be used on your neck and back.
Why Choose VI Peel?
In addition to treating the conditions listed above, there are many different reasons why you may choose a VI Peel over another chemical peel or even a surgical procedure. The main goal of the VI Peel is to remove the damaged layers of skin to reveal the healthy, rejuvenated skin underneath. The ideal candidate for this treatment method is someone who is frustrated with the appearance of their skin, whether they’re dealing with conditions like residual acne scarring or simply want to brighten up a dull complexion. It’s also recommended that you have healthy skin, as it will help you achieve better results as your face heals after the treatment.
What to Expect
As far as cosmetic procedures go, VI Peels are among the most mild procedures you can elect to have. First, you will schedule a consultation at The Vu Center where you will meet with a friendly member of our staff. They will go over the treatment with you and examine your skin to determine if a VI Peel is the right treatment option for you. If your desired results can be better achieved with or in combination with another procedure, the doctor or nurse will explain your options at this time.
On the day of your treatment, your aesthetician may start the treatment by taking images of your skin to show you how it looks before the treatment. Following the images, they will clean your skin to remove all of the natural oils, which can prevent the treatment from penetrating deep into your pores. Once your skin is clean, they will then apply the VI Peel all over your face and any other areas you elect to treat. Generally, VI Peels are a painless procedure. However, it is normal to feel some tingling or sensitivity, especially after the peel is applied.
After the Treatment
After applying the VI Peel, you are free to leave The Vu Center and continue with your daily routine. It’s recommended to leave the peel on your face for about four hours, at which point you can remove the peel. Your aesthetician may also provide you with some instructions such as staying out of direct sunlight to avoid any negative side-effects with the chemicals in the VI Peel.
The Results
About four to seven days following your treatment, your skin will start to peel. This is completely normal, as it will help reveal the rejuvenated skin underneath. It’s a good idea to keep your skin moisturized and protected from the sun as it peels. Once your skin has finished peeling, you can expect brighter, firmer, smoother, and more lustrous skin! That being said, keep in mind that results will vary from patient to patient. If you would like to maintain your results, you can reschedule a VI Peel every four to six weeks.
