Who Is a Good Candidate?

What to Expect

BOTOX Cosmetic treatments are usually completed at The Vu Center, and we request that you arrive on time for your appointment. Overall, the treatment should last less than 15 minutes.

Anesthesia is not required for a BOTOX Cosmetic treatment. Instead, the surgeon will give you a cold compress or an anesthetic cream to numb the areas where they will inject the BOTOX Cosmetic. Once you are numb, the surgeon will use a tiny needle to inject the formula into areas where you have moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. The number of injections needed depends on the severity of the wrinkles and where they are located on your face.

After the BOTOX Cosmetic Treatment

Following your procedure, you will be able to return to your daily routine without any downtime. Within seven days, you should start to see the effects of the BOTOX Cosmetic treatment. Unfortunately, BOTOX is not a permanent solution to the effects of aging, and the BOTOX treatment will only last up to four months before wrinkles and fine lines will start to appear.

Most patients feel minimal discomfort during the BOTOX treatment itself, but some of the side-effects following the procedure include:

• Dry mouth
• Swelling
• Redness
• Tenderness
• Inflammation
• Headache
• Neck pain
• Bruising
